Our Christmas this year was very laid back. We spent Christmas Eve with PawPaw and MeeMee and then we spent Christmas morning at our house before heading to Grandma and Boppa's.
Our Christmas Tree 2013
PawPaw and MeeMee came over early on Christmas Eve so that we could open presents together with the girls and then go eat lunch. I think both of the girls were really excited!
Ashton loves Sofia the First and baby dolls, so that is what she got.
She was so happy to get her "pink" baby and car seat!
Kaylyn still enjoys her Kindle and needed some money for it, so she asked for Amazon gift cards.
She also LOVES Harry Potter and asked for the DVD collection.
She was so excited!
PawPaw got her some new perfume that she wanted.
Kaylyn needed a new bike and helmet this year. She got the helmet, but had to wait to see if Santa would bring a bike to go with it.
PawPaw opening his gifts...
MeeMee and her new ornament that says Fear the Spear.
PawPaw asked for a BCS National Championship shirt...now hopefully FSU will win and make everyone happy!
In my MOPS group, we made these etched glasses and I loved them. I made one for Trey for Christmas, but he found it early. When he saw it, he liked it too and we decided to make them for the grandparents for presents.
Dad's says PawPaw...
Carol's says MeeMee...
Trey got a new set of coasters and a new FSU spatula...
Along with a Home Depot gift card.
I got a Keurig that I'd wanted for a while...
We also got gift cards to Cracker Barrel...yummy, yummy!
After presents, we all went to lunch at Outback and had a great meal. It was time for PawPaw and MeeMee to head back to Sneads and we decided to go golfing as a family. We had so much fun on the golf course and even got the golf cart stuck which was hilarious! Kaylyn was driving when it happened and we didn't think we were ever going to get the golf cart out, but after breaking a few tree limbs and shoving them under the tire along with some rocks, we eventually we did.
Later that night, it was time to leave cookies for Santa and get to bed.
Our new stockings...
6:22 came so early! I knew Kaylyn had her alarm set for 6:45, but she was too excited and couldn't sleep. She was so sweet coming in the room and saying "mama, I know it's early, but I just can't sleep."
The first present she saw was her bike from Santa.
It's the exact one she wanted and was so excited!
Ashton on the other hand was still sleepy and only wanted to sit in my lap...
I started a tradition last year where I do not put any names on any gifts. I don't like for someone to guess what they are getting, so this is the best way to prevent it...and it's pretty exciting for the girls on Christmas morning to finally find their piece of wrapping paper (at the bottom of their stocking) telling them which gifts are theirs.
The girls and their wrapping paper.
Ashton had to have a new helmet like YaYa.
Other than a bike, the thing that Kaylyn wanted most was a pair of Beats Headphones. I didn't think that she needed them, but Trey insisted that she get them for Christmas...
She was one excited little girl!
Ashton still wasn't excited about opening presents...it was just way too early.
Daddy got a new watch.
Finally getting into it.
She loved her new pink ball and loved it even more when daddy and YaYa bounced it off of their heads over and over again after opening presents.
YaYa helping Ashton open the present that she bought her with her own money...
It was a Pete the Cat book.
Daddy also got some new socks...even though he does every year.
He got a reflective vest too so that he can run at night without me worrying that he is going to be ran over.
Kaylyn had waited long enough and was ready to ride her new bike.
Checking out the gears.
Big kids need a turn too...
After we all got dressed and ready to go, we headed to Grandma and Boppa's house.
Not only did Kaylyn ask for the DVD collection, she also asked for 4 books to complete her Harry Potter set. She was really excited that Grandma and Boppa got them for her!
Ashton got a really cute tea set.

The grand kids...
Ashton also got some new red shoes.

(Ashton was completely over taking pictures)
The year will be over in just a few hours and I look forward to what 2014 brings us. We've had so much happen in 2013, but we are blessed beyond belief and are so thankful for all that we have and all of the family and friends that mean the most to us!
So long 2013!
Love, The Dirks
