Wild Adventures

This past weekend we took the girls to Wild Adventures for a little fun before Christmas. We had plans to leave first thing that morning, but had a slight hiccup when our transmission went out in the Pathfinder. What could have ruined our day was brushed off with an "it is what it is" attitude and we continued on with our trip (after our good friend Steve came and picked us up to go get the Honda).

In past trips, Ashton has only been able to go on a few rides. Either she was too short, or we were too tall to ride with her and Kaylyn is not old enough to accompany her. This time was completely different. Our baby girl has finally hit the magic height of 36 inches and it changed her whole experience at the park...and ours! We all loved her little smile on each one of the rides and Kaylyn really liked her being able to go on the big kid ones with us.

There are always animals that you can hold when you first enter the park and Kaylyn always holds them.

Kaylyn with the snake.

Our first ride was the Ant Farm Express (a little kid roller coaster). Ashton was so excited!

Love that cheesy smile.

Once we started going up the hill, I think she got a little nervous...

But she did put her hand up...

It was really hard to take a picture while turned around backwards and moving, but I'm glad I was able to get this look on her face.

Next up was the ship ride (I'm not sure of the name). Ashton is too short to ride and it's not my favorite so I was more than willing to let Trey and Kaylyn go.

The Ferris Wheel

While Kaylyn and I stood in line for another ride, Trey tried to take Ashton to ride the turtles. She was really excited at first, but when he had to leave her she decided that she didn't want to do it.

Look at that poor face! No worries though, she rode it later and had a blast.

The ride that Kaylyn and I were waiting for...

I cannot believe that I'm blocking Kaylyn's face in this picture!?! At least you can see part of her smile behind my hand.

Kaylyn & I

The girls and I rode the slide...

Swamp Thing
(and might I say that Trey did a much better job of taking pictures than I did)

We decided to try the turtles again and this time with YaYa, but wouldn't you know that she was too tall. I put Ashton in it anyway and told her that I would just stand a short distance away. She stayed in the turtle and ended up loving it!

I'm so glad that she liked it!

Kaylyn rode the Kite Flyer while Ashton rode the turtles.

First she was by herself...

And then Trey rode with her...

The Frog Ride
(normally I have to ride this with Ashton, but since she was tall enough I didn't have to)

Sweet Sisters

Ashton loves her YaYa so much and I'm so thankful that she has a wonderful BIG sister to look up to!

The Falcon Flyer

The Whirling Wildcats

This is one of Kaylyn's favorites and she was so happy that Ashton got to ride with us.

We tried to explain to Ashton that she wouldn't be able to hold on once we started going, but she didn't understand. She tried her hardest at first, but then had to lean on Kaylyn. All of us were dying laughing.

If she could only stay this little!

And I cannot believe that she will be 11 in less than two months.

The park put on a live Nativity performance and it was great! We all really enjoyed it and I loved hearing the girls sing along with the cast.

This was a new ride called TailSpin.

At first Kaylyn was pretty nervous...

But then, she ended up loving it!

She loved it so much, that she wanted to ride it again and this time I had to go with her.

One of our last rides of the night was the train. This was Ashton's first time riding it (before she was too short and we were too tall) and she had so much fun.

Choo Choo

What could have been a horrible day (if we allowed it), turned out to be one of the best days in a while! It's moments like these that we spend together as a family that I will cherish forever.
