A Day With My Dad aka PawPaw

A couple of weeks ago, my dad came over to spend the day with me and the girls. Trey was out of town and my dad is always there to help me out when he is gone. It was Spring Break for the girls and my dad thought it would be fun to spend the afternoon at Wakulla Springs. It was a gorgeous day and we had a great time!

When we arrived at the park, a few of the boat tours were already sold out, so we bought the next available one that was going to leave about an hour or so later. Since we had time to kill, we let the girls go down and feel the water and then enjoyed ice cream in the lodge along with a little bit of picture taking.

PawPaw and his girls...oh how they love him!

Sweet sisters.

On the boat tour, we had the best guide that I've ever had (I really wish I remembered his name). He sang a cute little song and had everyone make this silly noise when they saw an alligator. Ashton loved it and had everyone laughing when she would do it.

Sitting with PawPaw and looking at the water...

Delaney's 1st time on a boat.

One neat thing the guide told us about while we were on the boat tour was the Sally Ward Spring. It's before the entrance to the park and I had no clue that it even existed. On our way out of the park, we had to stop to see the crystal clear water and I am so glad that we did. It was absolutely beautiful.

The girls are standing in front of the Sally Ward Spring. My pictures don't do it justice, but you should definitely stop to see it if you're ever going to the park.

A beautiful picture to end our fun time at Wakulla Springs!

What is a Dad?

A Dad is a person who is loving and kind
And often he knows what you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens, suggests and defends
A dad can be one of your very best friends.
He's proud of your triumphs, but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient and helpful and strong.
In all that you do, a dad's love plays a part
There's always a place for him deep in your heart.
And each year that passes, you're even more glad.
More grateful and proud just to call him your dad!
Thank you Dad...
for listening and caring, for giving and sharing,
but, especially for just being you.

The only thing better
than having you as my DAD...
is my kids having you as their GRANDFATHER

I like to walk with Grandpa...
He takes his time you see
His steps are little just like mine;
He stops and waits for me.

He lets me ask him questions
He lets me hold his hand.
He makes me feel 10 feet tall
And I think that he is grand.

He says there's no one like me
And gold is what I'm worth.
When I get to walk with Grandpa
I'm the luckiest kid on earth!

A BIG thank you to my dad for being the best dad and PawPaw to his girls. You are always there for us no matter what and I appreciate it more than you will ever know! We love you so much!!!

Delaney Lou - 5 Months Old

Our sweet girl turned five months old last Tuesday and this was probably one of our most exciting months yet!

March 17, 2015 - 5 Months Old

Eek! Not even Delaney could believe she's already 5 months old!?!
(and she may want to kill me for this one day, but it was too funny not to post)

All About You Delaney Lou...

I'm not sure how much you weigh or how long you are this month, but I know that you are definitely bigger and longer.
You're still in size 2 diapers.
You wear size 3/6 and 6 month clothes.
We're still not sure what color your eyes are going to be or your hair.
Woohoo!!! You rolled over from your back to your tummy for the very first time on Sunday, March 15th.
I think you're really close to rolling over from your tummy to your back and I actually think you could do it if you wanted to.
You've gotten really good at moving around on your belly and you still love to spin circles on the floor.
You can grab anything you want with both hands...and you do!
You LOVE grabbing your feet and sucking on your toes.
You love to squeal! And it's not a mad squeal, just a high pitched, happy squeal. Like you want to make sure everyone knows you're there.
Sleep. What's that?!? You're really good at staying up all night, but even though I'm tired beyond belief, I wouldn't trade you for any amount of sleep in the world.
You love people and they LOVE you!
And one of the most exciting things this month besides you rolling over was that you got your ears pierced. We did it on Friday, March 6th and Aunt Tia went with us to hold you while you got it done. I was so happy and thankful that she was there!

Here's a link to a video of Delaney rolling over for the 2nd time...

Aunt Tia and Delaney after getting her ears pierced.

I was so excited!

We had to have a photo shoot to show off her beautiful new earrings...

And don't you love her blanket from my sweet friend Becca.

March 9th, 2015
(this would have been my Granny, Mary Lou's birthday)

A beautiful day that called for playing outside on the trampoline.

I love these little feet!

She loves to chew on her Sophie and hold her foot at the same time.

And she loves to SMILE!

Oh how I love this sweet thing!!!

For you Delaney Lou...

I am your parent, you are my child
I am your quite place, you are my wild
I am your calm face, you are my giggle
I am your wait, you are my wiggle
I am your dinner, you are my chocolate cake
I am your bedtime, you are my wide awake
I am your lullaby, you are my peek-a-boo
I am your goodnight kiss, you are my I love you

Daddy Daughter Sock Hop - 2015

The Daddy Daughter Sock Hop was a couple of weekends ago (March 6th) and Trey and the girls had a blast once again!

I'm so glad that this has become a yearly tradition and I cannot wait to see the differences in all of the years to come.

My sweet girl was so excited to wear her new poodle skirt!

What a difference a year makes!?!

2014

2015

Even though Delaney was a little too young to go this year, we had to have a picture of all of the girls.
(look closely...someone got their ears pierced)

These two are such great friends and I love seeing them together!

Ashton and Savannah eating dinner at the Sock Hop.

I love these girls!

Watching a movie at the drive in.

The girls had so much fun dancing with each other.

And there wasn't much dancing with their daddy's again this year, but the church did snap this sweet picture of Ashton dancing with her daddy.

The girls dancing with Brian (Savannah's daddy).

I look forward to this night every year...almost as much as the girls do. Hopefully next year Savannah's little sister Scarlett will be there and maybe Delaney will be there with me volunteering.

And I end this post with these cute pics that Trey and the girls took in the photo booth...

*THANK YOU Megan for sharing your pictures with me again this year. I couldn't do this post without you!*
