3rd Annual Memorial Day Camping Trip

A few weekends back, our family along with 5 other families went on our annual Memorial Day camping trip. It was a smaller group than previous years (there were 28 of us), but still just as much fun... and actually one of my favorite trips! We went to Pine Mountain, GA and stayed at the Pine Mountain RV Resort.

This year, Kaylyn was able to come and we couldn't have been any more excited! We bought a bigger tent to fit everyone and she even helped Trey set it up.

Delaney, Ashton and I watched...

Delaney loved playing with her toys on the blanket.

Our new and much bigger tent. It fit all of us with two air mattresses and a pack-n-play for Delaney with plenty of room to still walk around.

We had a great first night and the weather was perfect. It was actaully a little chilly, but I'd rather be cold than hot any day of the week.

The next morning we woke up, took showers and had a great breakfast.

Grant was so happy to play with the big boys and it was the cutest thing to watch.

Delaney enjoyed her applesauce.

Sweet girls!

I love this beautiful girl!

These three sassy things were dancing.

Jimmy and Jonathan

And then it was time for Kaylyn and Ginger to teach Mrs. Brooke and Mrs. Amy how to "Whip." If you don't know what it is, just Google it. It's the newest "dance" that young kids are doing.

Andrew and Ryan were getting into it too...

And I love how the little girls were watching what was going on.

On a side note, if you were ever curious as to what guys think girls that wear high waisted shorts look like...this is it. And they don't think it's cute!

Jimmy was hilarious.

On Sunday, we all headed to the Pine Mountain Wild Animal Safari. You were able to drive your own car through, ride a bus or you rent vans. We opted for two of the vans and put three families in each one.

Van 1 - The McKee's, Vernon's and Watson's

Van 2 - Our family, the Hallases and the Jessee's
(we also had Ginger with us so that she and Kaylyn could ride together)

These girls were so excited!

I cannot even begin to name all of the animals that we saw on the safari, but I do know that these are zebras and they were very hungry. They met our vans as soon as we pulled through the gates.

They thought they could eat the bars on the windows.

I love the expression on Ashton's face in the next two pictures. She was so excited and thought it was hilarious!

Trey was the BEST tour guide. He even found the music from The Lion King and played it for us.

So funny!

They were so BIG!

Brooke got a little dirty...

And Kaylyn got slobbered on by a zebra...

Ashton wanted no part in getting too close to the animals.

If you're ever near Pine Mountain I highly recommend the safari. The kids and the adults all had a blast!

Our Group

After the safari, all 28 of us headed to The Bulloch House in Warm Springs for lunch. John and Katie told us about it and I was so excited to go try it out. It was the best southern food and I ate way too much.

Wyatt and Delaney

On the way back to the campground, we went site seeing and it was beautiful.

The Vernon Family

We enjoyed our last night camping by roasting marshmallows for s'mores and hanging out by the fire. It was the perfect ending for a perfect weekend full of family, fun and friends!

I have to admit that I didn't know how this weekend was going to go with having a baby, but it couldn't have been any better. The weather was perfect, the RV resort was really nice, the bugs weren't bad (if you remember, we all cut our trip short last year because it was so hot and the bugs were so bad) and we all had the BEST time ever!!! I truly look forward to these trips each year and now I'm even more excited to go again.
