Easter Egg Hunt & BBQ

Before I start this post, I'd like to say HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY to the best husband and daddy in the world!!! The girls and I are so lucky to have you!

I've been trying to get this post done all week so that I didn't have to post it on Trey's birthday, but that didn't happen, so here we go...

For Easter this year, we went to the Egg Hunt and BBQ put on by our church (Wildwood). We did the same thing last year and this year was just as much fun! They have all of the egg hunts separated by age group and they happen at different times which makes it much easier when you have a 10 year old and a 2 year old.

The first egg hunt was for Ashton's age group.

Kaylyn and Ashton waiting for it to start. You can see all of the eggs in the background.

Ashton was still little last year so we weren't sure what to expect this year. To say the least, we were completely surprised at what she did. Picture this...a field marked off and filled with tons of eggs. Parents are lined around the marked off area with their kids waiting for the "GO" to turn them loose to grab all of the eggs they can. We have Ashton and Kaylyn is trying to tell her to grab all of the eggs when we say go and put them in her basket. The pastor yells "GO" and Ashton doesn't start picking up the eggs directly in front of us, but rather takes off in a full sprint (I've never seen her run so fast) without her basket across the field. She grabbed one pink egg and then turned around and ran all the way back to us to put it in her basket. You had to be there, but I'm literally laughing as I type this just picturing her running. It was the cutest thing ever and she was so excited!

I was laughing too hard to take a picture when she first started running, but this is her running back with her pink egg in her hand and no basket :) It was like she knew exactly what she was going for.

Daddy trying to give her the basket.

Finally picking up all of the other Easter eggs.

She ended up getting quite a few eggs...

I invited my sweet friend Andrea and her family to come and I just had to take a quick family picture after the egg hunt. Gabe is always so sweet and baby Nora was too cute in her frilly Easter outfit.

After Ashton's egg hunt, we ate some food and then got ready for Kaylyn's egg hunt.

Kaylyn waiting patiently to go...

Off she goes.

I tried my best to keep up with her and stay out of the way of the rest of the kids.

Kaylyn got a ton of eggs.

Along with the egg hunts, there were also bounce houses, a petting zoo, hayrides, face paint, cotton candy and tons of great food.

Going down the slide in a dress isn't an easy task, but she did it.

Hayride time.

Kaylyn's friend Anna came with her family (they go to Wildwood too).

Grandma was with us and we had to get a picture of her with her girls.

I feel so sad/bad, but this is the only family picture that we got this year. I didn't take the first picture on Sunday :(

From our little family to your family, I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
