Last week, the girls and I were able to tag along with Trey while he worked in St. Pete. It was Kaylyn's spring break so the timing was perfect! We left on Monday and headed down for the week.
When we first got to Tampa, we went to Ybor City to grab a bite to eat and take the girls for a ride on the trolley. Trey and I rode it the last time we were down, but the girls were not with us. They had so much fun and Ashton enjoyed yelling "hi everybody" out of the window to anyone who walked by. It was hilarious and luckily everyone was nice and yelled hi back to her!
We have our tickets!
The girls waiting for the trolley to arrive.
Kaylyn was so excited!
So was Ashton!
Kaylyn was so excited to pull the string so that we could get off at the next stop.
Being silly.
On Tuesday, Trey had to work, but the girls and I had plans to go to the Glazer Museum. I took Ashton last year, but this was Kaylyn's first time going.
Playing in the "sand".
This was a tennis exhibit. The girls put the tennis ball down the tube, it would fly out and a racket was there to hit it back at them.
Ashton wasn't able to climb this last time, so she was really excited to be able to do it with Kaylyn.
Time to shop!
Ashton was the shopper and Kaylyn was the cashier.
Kaylyn loves animals, so I knew she would love the vet exhibit.
Such cute little fire women.
To end our trip to the museum, Kaylyn put on a show for us.
I had such a good time watching my girls interact with each other and Ashton loved having YaYa there to play with this time.
When Trey got off of work on Tuesday, we headed to Clearwater to eat and let the girls stick their feet in the water. It was a great way to end our day.
Wednesday was a pretty relaxing day. I took the girls to a bounce house and when Trey got off, we met our good friends Lindsay and Andrew for dinner.
Kaylyn is such a great big sister and always helping Ashton.
On Thursday, Trey was able to take off and spend the last day with me and the girls. Since he was with us, we decided to go to the Lowry Park Zoo. This was our first time going, but it is definitely somewhere that we will visit again.
The girls enjoyed watching the African penguins eat and swim.
We weren't able to feed the giraffe's because they were "necking" (determining dominance), but we were still able to get up close to see them.
Ashton loved the mama and baby elephant.
And Kaylyn loved the meerkat's.
Ashton's first roller coaster ride.
We told her to put her hands in the air...
She ended up just putting them on her head which was really cute.
Look at that face! She loved it!!!
Kaylyn always enjoys a roller coaster ride.
Kaylyn's arms are up and Ashton's are still on her head.
Kaylyn wanted to ride again and again and again...
Kaylyn feeding the birds.
A train ride with daddy.
Hanging with the bats.
Both of the girls loved looking at the manatees. They ran back and forth for the longest time just watching them swim.
Stingray Petting
Watching the monkeys...
And to end our time at the zoo...acting like a monkey.
After the zoo and lunch, we decided to take the girls to an indoor trampoline arena called AirHeads. It was the last fun thing we were going to do before leaving the next day to head back home. We were only going to let the girls participate, but after seeing how much they liked it, Trey and I decided to do it too.
We all had such an amazing time and this is a spring break that we will always remember.
What a fabulous week! You definitely got in a lot of fun memories!! Love all of your pictures, especially the newspaper one :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you got to experience these places with your girls. I lived in Clearwater for 22 years. Lowry Park Zoo is amazing. In the summer they have great programs for the kids. Happy to hear your family had a good trip.
