Hawks Rise Field Day - 2012

Friday, Ashton and I went to Kaylyn's school to watch her and her classmates participate in Field Day.  Kaylyn is so competitive and gets excited for this day every year.  I'm not sure who she gets her competitive nature from, but I do enjoy watching her compete!

There were things that her class did as a team and there were individual competitions too.  I didn't get a picture of Kaylyn's class doing tug-of-war, but she wasn't very excited because they lost both times.  Luckily, she was prepared for that outcome going into the day, so it wasn't that bad when they didn't win.

One of Kaylyn's favorite things to compete in is the frisbee throwing contest.  All of the girls compete against each other and Kaylyn seems to do well every year.  This year, she came in 2nd place out of all of the 3rd grade girls.

Kaylyn after her throw...she was nervous and biting her nails...

still one of the furthest...

Ashton and her other BIG sister Jessica (Kaylyn's best friend)...if you look, you can still see Kaylyn standing there with her frisbee in the background.

One of Kaylyn's other favorite's is the hula hoop contest.  She didn't win, but still had fun doing it and that's all that matters!

Walking and hula hooping...she's pretty good...

In these, she is walking backwards...

Regardless of winning or losing, it was a great day!  The weather was perfect and all of the kids really enjoyed being outside and doing activities that they love.
