Fall Is For Family Fun

This week it finally felt like FALL in Florida...it was cold in the mornings and warmed up nicely in the afternoons!  We had a week full of fun including a Family Fall Festival & Fishers Of Men Fish Fry at church & we also went to the St. Marks Stone Crab Festival.

On Wednesday I took the girls to the church for an afternoon of fun!  The first thing we did when we got there was head straight to the pony ride.  Kaylyn immediately jumped on a horse and after some reassuring from the men running the show, I put Ashton on a horse as well (I walked beside her).  Kaylyn of course LOVED it and Ashton was definitely cautious.  She refused to touch, much less hold onto the saddle and rode the horse with me holding one hand and the other hand out to the side.  I even found myself singing horse songs from storytime to keep her happy :)

After the pony ride, we ate cotton candy & popcorn and the girls jumped in the bouncy house together (I don't have pictures, because I didn't have my camera & my phone kept dying).  When I was able to talk Kaylyn into taking a break, we went inside for dinner & it was sooooo good!  We ate catfish, cheese grits, french fries, coleslaw, hot dogs, cupcakes for dessert & drank some of the best sweet tea.  Later during the afternoon, Trey showed up to join us for fun inside the church (they had booths setup for kids to do), Kaylyn and Ashton taking a Fall Photo, Kaylyn getting her face painted and we all took a hayride together.  It was a wonderful night and we all really enjoyed it.

On Saturday, we took a family trip to St. Marks for the Stone Crab Festival.  My brother Lucas was working with the human hamster ball (Walk On Water) so we decided it was the perfect time.  It was Trey, Kaylyn, Ashton & I, my dad (Greg), Kim (my sister in law) & the boys (Kaden, Kellan & Kolby) and her parents, Leslie and Marilyn.

Of course the first thing spotted once we arrived was a pony ride & Kaylyn was in heaven.  After finding my brother's spot and my dad we soon headed that direction.

Kaylyn getting pretty brave after her summertime horse riding lessons!

Our next adventure for the day (after eating some good seafood for lunch) was a mechanical bull.  Trey & Kaylyn tried to get me to do it, but I declined.  It ended up being Kaylyn, Kaden & Trey that went for it!

First up was Kaylyn...she didn't last very long, but no one else did either, so it was okay...

Next was Kaden & he didn't last very long either...

We saved the BEST for last and we have the pictures to prove it!  Trey was the last one up, but put on a show for everyone watching.  He even wore a Coors Light helmet for safety :)

Our favorite thing today was the human hamster ball that my brother does!  Kaylyn & Kaden literally played in this thing on & off for the whole day (luckily for us, the owner didn't charge since we were family).  I even got in with Kaylyn and had a blast myself!  It was actually more of a workout than I thought it would be and really hard to run while standing and not fall on Kaylyn.  It is definitely a must try for the whole family.

The rest of the family :) with the exception of the picture taker...

Little Ashton had a fun day as well. She definitely couldn't do all of the stuff the BIG kids were able to do, but she did enjoy being able to walk around, people watch :) & she really enjoyed being pushed by everyone in her stroller!

Ashton's day...

We had a great time spending the day with family & look forward to many more days like this to come!
