Delaney Lou - One Month Old Already

Our sweet little Delaney Lou was one month old on the 17th. The time went by so fast and it seems like only yesterday we were waiting to meet her. We are all so in love and smitten with our little "chunky monkey."

All About Delaney Lou...

She went for her one month checkup on November 24th and weighed 8 pounds 14 ounces and was 21 inches long.
She loves being held by her mommy or anyone else that wants a snuggle.
She knows her daddy's voice and looks for him when he talks.
She loves her YaYa who has been named the baby whisperer.
She loves kisses from Ashton and gets tons of them.
She smiles :)
She eats every 2-3 hours with the exception of night time.
She sleeps a ton...even during the night. We normally go to bed around 10:30 or 11:00, she wakes up sometime between 2:00 and 3:00 and then sleeps again until it's time to wake up for the day. This is so different from her sisters and I am very thankful!
She is still so tiny even though she gained 2 pounds in one month.
She wears newborn diapers.
She still wears newborn clothes, but her long legs are making some pants too short. 0-3 month is way too big though.
Her hair is brown with a touch of red in the sun and her eyes are still blue.
She REALLY dislikes having her clothes changed and she's not really into her bath yet either.
She likes being in the car seat, but only if it's in the car and the car is moving. I dread red lights!
She will take the pacifier occasionally, but most of the time acts like she is being gagged. And she is already searching for her thumb.
She has been to basketball games for her YaYa, to MOPS meetings, to birthday parties and on a road trip to Jacksonville to see her great grandma.
She is happy and a go with the flow baby.

There are so many other things that I could say about her, but this post would take forever. In the one month that she has been here, she has been such a blessing to our family and to everyone else. She is loved by ALL, but especially by me! I spend hours a day holding her and wouldn't have it any other way. She is my precious baby girl and she will only be this little for so long.

Pictures From Delaney's First Month

On mommy is her favorite place to be...

Ashton got a Boba carrier so that she can carry her baby like I carry Delaney.

When Delaney was just a week old, we went to the Fall Festival at church.

Ashton rode a horse for the first time.

Delaney's first bath and she hated it!

The cutest Future Voter ever!

We went to Ashton's school when the firemen were there.

This bath wasn't as bad...

Smiles!

Ashton LOVES her little sister.

Aunt Camala came to visit.

Delaney got to meet her great grandma for the very first time. And doesn't she look great to be 97 years young!

Great Grandma Lottie with all of her girls.

Such a precious picture!

Delaney loves her PawPaw.

LOVE.

Ashton's Harvest Party

On November 13th, Ashton's school had their annual Harvest Party. Before the party festivities began, there was a small performance put on by the kids. We learned recently that performing in front of an audience is not exactly Ashton's thing, so we weren't sure how it was going to go. The day before, she cried almost the whole time while practicing, but eventually pulled herself together before it was over. On the day of the performance, I could tell as soon as she walked out that it was taking everything in her power to keep it together. She kept her arms crossed the whole time and refused to sing or do any of the motions, but she did hold it together until the very end when she saw her daddy. It was so sad to watch, but I was still very proud of her for even staying on the stage.

Poor baby...

She literally stood like this the whole time.

And to think, we have to do this again next month for the Christmas presentation...

Once it was over, she was so happy for her daddy to get her off of the stage.

Woohoo!!! I'm done!

Even though she hasn't conquered her fear of performing in front of an audience (though I wish you could see her perform for us at the house) she has fallen in love with other things that used to terrify her.

One of her new favorite things to do is to ride a horse. If you remember from any previous post where animals were involved, she would have absolutely nothing to do with them (she only liked humans). Now though, things have changed.

This is look when the horse first starts walking...

And this is her realizing that she loves it!

Another thing she has finally warmed up to is face painting. I'm not sure why she didn't like it previously, but she knew on this day that she was going to do it. I think having all of your friends do it and one of your really good friends sitting right beside you makes a huge difference.

I love this sweet thing so much!

So pretty!

Ashton also decided that she would "pet" the bunny...

Not for too long though.

Ashton loves her some Scarlett!

In just a few short months, this little stinker has grown leaps and bounds. She may not like performing in front of strangers (she gets it honest...I can't stand it), but she has found so many other things that she loves! I truly feel like she is such a "big" kid since starting school and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the year brings.

I love you punkin' dunkin'!
