Kaylyn Turns 10! - (Part 2)

The week of Kaylyn's birthday, we had a small dinner planned and a birthday celebration at school with her classmates.

Wednesday was dinner night and for the second year in a row, Kaylyn picked Osaka. It was Kaylyn, me, Trey, Ashton, my dad and Trey's mom.

Kaylyn's 2 tiered "birthday cake".

She LOVES Osaka!
(and she will be really mad at me for this picture)

Kaylyn wouldn't try to catch a shrimp, but Trey did and my dad did. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of my dad.

The day of Kaylyn's birthday, we planned a celebration in her class. She and her teacher actually share the same birthday, so we did a little extra since there were 2 "birthday girls". Kaylyn's request was doughnuts so I brought in chocolate frosted and glazed ones. With the help of other parents, we also had fruit, juice and milk.

(I still cannot believe that she is 10)

The class sang Happy Birthday to Kaylyn & Mrs. Hadley and she cannot stand for all of the attention to be on her.

Celebrating at school was a great way to end the birthday festivities! I look forward to so many more memories with Kaylyn and I am so proud to be her mom.

Kaylyn Turns 10! - (Part 1)

It's official...my baby girl is 10, or as she likes to say, she is "double digits" now (insert sad face here).

2-15-13

Kaylyn's birthday was the 15th, but we started celebrating the week before. After much deliberation, her BIG present this year was a trampoline. It was something that she wanted more than anything and Trey and I along with my dad and Trey's parents got it for her. The Friday before her birthday, Trey and my dad put it together to surprise her with it when she got home from school.

Working hard to get it done before Kaylyn got home.

Trey had to try it out first...

Trey and my dad worked so hard and I am so thankful for both of them!

For the big reveal, everyone was there and to say that Kaylyn was excited would be an understatement.

Her first bounce and of course it was a back handspring.

When Kaylyn got home, Ashton was still sleeping and had no idea what was going on outside. It was about to kill Kaylyn, so I finally let her wake Ashton up.

The sisters first bounce together.

Monkey see, monkey do.

Kaylyn and some of the BEST grandparents a kid could ask for!

The next day, we had a sleepover for Kaylyn's birthday party. She didn't want your typical themed party this year, but did want her closest friends to help her celebrate.

We started with taking the girls to the park and letting them run around and have fun. They walked on trails, played kickball, took pictures and rolled down hills.

After the park, we headed back home for the girls to jump on the trampoline and make their own personalized bags before we went for pizza and ice cream.

Making their bags...

On the way to eat pizza.

After pizza we headed to Lofty Pursuits for ice cream.

Ashton needed a treat too!

These girls are so good.

After ice cream it was time to head home for presents and cookie cake...what's a party without cake!?!

I love this picture of the girls! They are truly the sweetest and most well mannered children ever. I hope their friendships last forever.

Time for cake!

You cannot tell in the picture, but by mistake I only put 9 candles on the cake...I guess I'm really not ready for her to be 10.

Their finished bags.

The girls ended the sleepover by jumping on the trampoline before parents arrived to pick them up.
