The Sweetest Gift For My 30th

Last week, I turned the BIG 3-0! It was a wonderful weekend spent with great friends and my wonderful family. Part of my celebration was a brunch with my dearest girlfriends and without me knowing, Trey had Camala bring a book that he made to give me (he even made her read it). It is probably the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me and I just had to share.

Happy Birthday America

We spent the 4th of July with our great friends Sarah and Steve and their precious kids Ryan and Claire. I spend a lot of time with Sarah and the kids, so it was nice for us to be able to get together with the husbands too. We went to their house and let the kids play in the water and then Steve grilled steaks for dinner. They were delicious!

All of the kids...

Claire was so cute!

The girls...

Claire & Ryan

Ryan loved the mud!

She will want to kill me for this someday, but I had to have a booty shot!

Look at that face...

After dinner, we headed to Summerbrooke to watch fireworks. They put on a great show every year and the kids really enjoyed it. It was a great end to a wonderful day.

I know this is really, really blurry, but I LOVE the expression on Ryan's face!

My big girl watching the fireworks.

I LOVE the look on her face in this one. She was absolutely amazed by the fireworks.

Ashton thought the fireworks were great...

All done & time to go!

Horses Are Her Favorite Thing

After a few failed attempts at riding lessons for Kaylyn, I was finally able to schedule something with Nicki at Happy Trails.

Kaylyn had taken a few lessons prior to these, but with Nicki, it was like she had been riding forever. It's totally her thing and she is not afraid to do anything that is asked of her. She was able to ride her absolute favorite horse at the ranch named Gus and she was over the moon excited! Before she started riding, she helped brush the horse and even get the saddle ready and when the lesson was over she was able to spray Gus off with water to cool him down.

Below are a few of the pictures I was able to get while trying to keep Ashton out of the horse ring (I'm not sure if that is what it is called, but the place that Kaylyn was riding).

She was so comfortable on the horse and you can definitely tell. In this picture, if you look closely you can see cones on the right side. Nicki had Kaylyn steering the horse in and out of these within the first 5 minutes of riding and she did it perfectly!

Gus was getting up to speed in this one. I would have asked to get off, but Kaylyn LOVED it!

Towards the end of the lesson, Nicki had Kaylyn doing tricks. In this picture, she was getting ready to do "around the world" where she rotates her body around in a circle while sitting on the horse.

When Nicki asked Kaylyn to stand on the horse, I was a little scared at first. The horse was so big, but to see how little she was yet still so confident, I knew she was fine.

Kaylyn cannot wait until her next lesson and if you are ever looking for something I highly suggest Nicki! She does wonderful parties (Kaylyn had her 7th birthday there) and she is a great teacher.
