A couple of weeks ago, we headed to Panama City Beach for our first family vacation of the summer. It had been planned for months and we were excited that the time had finally arrived and that we were going to have perfect weather. Along with our family, we also took Meghan (our friend Tracy's daughter) with us. We stayed at the Laketown Wharf and it was amazing. It was directly across from the beach with easy access to the sand, great views and a ton of pools for the kids.
Our view was amazing...
We arrived on Saturday and Kaylyn was so excited that there were bunk beds! It was her first time ever sleeping on one, so of course she had to be on the top bunk.
She was so happy!

Since Sunday was Father's Day, we had to celebrate.

Daddy and his girls...
For Father's Day lunch, we went to Trey's favorite place at Pier Park. It's called Hoegaarden and they have good beer and the best pretzels with beer cheese.

Trey being silly with the girls...
After lunch, we took the older girls to do a mirror maze, laser tag and this other laser game where you had to maneuver yourself through the lasers in the fastest time.
Kaylyn & Meghan getting ready for laser tag...serious faces...grrrr!
Because I LOVE silly pictures.
Ashton had to try on the vest as well, but it was so heavy, her little body couldn't hold it up.

I laugh every time I look at these pictures...
On Monday, Trey played golf while the girls and I went to the pool. By the time that Trey got back, Ashton was swimming by herself in the pool with the puddle jumper.
She was tired from all of that swimming.
After swimming, we decided to go ride go carts. There was one track that Kaylyn was able to drive by herself and another track where Trey and I took turns driving her and Meghan was able to drive by herself.

Kaylyn driving all by herself...I taught her well.
She was so EXCITED!
Meghan's turn on the bigger track...
From the time we arrived at the beach, all Kaylyn talked about was going parasailing. Since she is not afraid of too many things, I knew she would do it with me (I'd been before, but she hadn't). We decided to go on Tuesday and it was a little windy which made getting to the boat and on the boat a little more difficult, but once we were in the air, Kaylyn was in heaven. I'm so glad that I was able to be with her and it is something that I will always remember that we did together!
I was the last to get on the banana that took us to the boat and you can kind of see Kaylyn's little self towards the front (she is the second person).
Here we go...
You cannot see us, but there was no way to take a camera and this was the best shot from the shore.
Ashton ate cookies while Kaylyn and I were gone...
On Wednesday, the waves were getting bigger due to Tropical Storm Debbie heading our direction. After a little bit in the water, Trey and the kids decided it was a good time to build something in the sand.

I LOVE this face!
Ashton was trying to help Kaylyn...
After a few finishing touches, their turtle was awesome!
She was tired from all of the running back and forth and the supervising...
On our last night, we decided to go down to the beach and take a few more pictures.

This was the last picture and I think it was a perfect way to end a great vacation!
Love all the pictures but especially the black and white ones and the one of all four of you together. Memories are so important. I remember you parasailing when you went to the Bahamas with your dad and me. Looks like a great vacation for all.
ReplyDeleteI remember that too. It was the first and only time I'd been before this time with Kaylyn. I told her how awesome it was! I'll never forget how beautiful the water was.
