My Little Lady

I may sound like a broken record, but I cannot believe that my little girl is going to be 10 in just a few short months. Being her mom has brought me so much joy and I have cherished watching her grow and become the little lady that she is today...and she is truly a "little lady"! With that said, there is a moment that I want to remember forever and I just had to blog about it.

A couple of weeks ago, Kaylyn got her report card and it was perfect! She had all A's, all check marks and all E's in her special area classes. Trey and I do not give money for grades per say, but we do like to treat her to something that she really enjoys. It is normally a nice dinner out, but this time Kaylyn's treat ended up being a new pair of boots that she just had to have. The boots however were not just any boots...they were boots that zipped up the back and where the zipper is, it is pink. The significance of this is that I have a pair of boots that zip up the back and where the zipper is, it is red. And the only reason that any of this matters is that Kaylyn knew she and I were going to the Chris Tomlin concert and she was dead set on our outfits matching. She said that she would wear her skinny jeans and new boots and that I would do the same. I know the older that she gets, there will probably not be many moments like this, but for now, I will take them and make her the happiest little girl in the world by wearing matching outfits...or at least jeans and boots!

It is such a small thing, but it is a moment that I will cherish forever...

Happy Halloween - 2012

Let me start by saying that this has been my favorite Halloween to date! Kaylyn decide on her own that she wanted to be an Indian girl (I've only been asking for this for 9 years), and Ashton was the cutest little watermelon ever!!!

Kaylyn all dressed up before school.

I love her costume and think it is perfect for her!

Our little watermelon.

I had to get a few pictures of just the girls before we left for the party...

Beautiful!

Ashton's costume was a little bulky and she tipped over...Kaylyn just watched. At least Ashton thought it was fun.

To celebrate Halloween, we were invited to the home of Amy and Buckley (we are in a small group with them from church). They have a huge get together every year and they were so nice to invite our family. I don't know the final count, but there were a ton of people there. We had great food and a great time with each other.

Getting ready to leave...

Our girls...

Trey carried Ashton at first until she decided she wanted to run like the other kids.

Kaylyn and Ginger (Amy and Buckley's daughter).
They became the best of friends and were together all night!

Ready to get some candy.

Kaylyn waiting to get some candy...

Kaylyn is always such a great big sister and tonight was no different. She is always ready and willing to help Ashton.

I love this picture! Even though it is a little blurry, the look on Ashton's face is pure happiness to get her candy.

Kaylyn, Ashton and Ginger.
Ginger was also a big help with Ashton and they were all so sweet together.

Ashton getting candy from Mr. Bob.

Right before leaving to head home, Kaylyn found Lyndee (one of her best friends from school).

Her costume was too bulky for the car, but she actually left her hat on. We could not believe that she wore this the whole night, but we were glad that she did because it was too cute!

Going through her goodies.

Kaylyn looking to see what she got.

We had a great night and the girls had a blast! Now if only the candy would disappear. Until next year,  Happy Halloween!!!

They are still the cutest pumpkins ever!!!

Since Kaylyn had a teacher planning day yesterday, Tia and I decided to make our trip to the Pumpkin Patch with the kids. So much has changed in a year and our kids have grown so much (and become much harder to photograph)! As a mom, it's nice to watch them become independent, but uploading these pictures and looking back at the ones from last year definitely makes me a little sad. I want to freeze time and hold on to my girls (and Sam) for a little bit longer...I don't want them to grow anymore. Since I cannot do that, I will cherish every minute that I get to spend with them and special times like these with friends.

Kaylyn & Ashton - Pumpkin Patch 2012

And only a year ago, these were my babies...

Kaylyn is getting so BIG!

Such cute pumpkins!

Picking out a pumpkin...

Ashton & Sam last year...

And then this year...

I love Ashton's expression!

Kaylyn decided to pull the little ones in the wagon.

And then they started going too fast down the hill and she ended up in the pumpkins...uh oh!

All of the kids last year...

And all of the kids this year...

Sam loves his Ashton so much he just had to sit in her lap!

Sam also LOVES Mickey Mouse!!!

Now it's Ashton turn with Mickey.

Me and my girls.

Even though the little ones were much harder to get pictures of this year, we all had a great time. Until next year...Happy Halloween!
